Unified by our acquisition of Associated Resources, Inc. this February, we at PetroLedger want our clients to get to know one of the many new faces behind our Land Administration team. We’d like to introduce Nan Carlson, our Director of Land Administration, located in our new Tulsa office. Today, we’d like to get to know her a little better with a few questions about her life and career.
I'm actually getting ready to do this, in a sense. My fourth grade teacher read a book to the class titled Beautiful Joe that has stuck with me all these years. I remember very little about it other than it left an impression on me. It's out of print, but I just recently found it at a thrift store. I snatched it up, and now I'll get to see why it has stuck with me for so long.
I have been in the oil and gas industry for over 25 years. I started with an outsourcing company in Denver, Colorado. After that, I worked for a large exploration company in Denver, and then for a small producer in Shreveport, Louisiana. I took several years off to raise my four kids, and then came back to the industry to work in outsourcing again. Since coming back, I have been with Associated Resources, Inc., and now PetroLedger, for the past 19 years.
I've always wanted to take a ride on the Rocky Mountaineer, a Canadian train service that takes you from Vancouver to Banff. I love the mountains, but I haven’t had the chance to take the trip because of all our kids' activities. Now that they are all grown, it's on my bucket list to do in the next year or two.
I am the Director of Land Administration. I assist the Division Order and Lease Records Managers with any client issues or concerns. I am also currently spending a good portion of my time learning about and setting up our new lease records software from Quorum, On Demand.
My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my children and their families. I also enjoy making beaded/embroidered Christmas stockings.
