At PetroLedger, we get to know our clients pretty well. We want you to know who we are, too. There’s a lot more personality than you might expect to find at a financial firm. While professionalism is our first order of business, creating a fun work environment is always close behind! Today we’d like to introduce Melodee Papke, Vice President of Enterprise Clients. We sat down with her to get to know her a little better…
I graduated from Northeastern State University with a degree in Accounting and went straight into the O&G industry with Samson Resources. As a graduating student with a family, the public accounting track didn’t seem to be the best option. At the time, the oil & gas industry was thriving in Oklahoma and it paid well, so that is where I focused my energy.
I have 30 years of experience in both accounting and finance functions in the energy industry. My experience ranges from transactional processing of AP, JIB, revenue to midstream, marketing, forecasting, and financial statement management. I received my CPA certificate in 1993 and my Accredited Petroleum Accountant (APA) certification last year.
My role varies daily from client support to business development, human resources, and strategic planning. I rely heavily on the team around me to get things done. I love the model and expertise we bring to the industry. I love providing jobs with flexibility for the amazing talent in this industry. But mostly, I love providing value for our customers and partnering with them to succeed.
I see the O&G industry continuing to evolve with the changing times by investing in technology and looking for ways to maximize value. Specifically, I see the outsourcing industry as being more attractive as the push continues for cash management and G&A control, but the expectations for output and expertise increase.
