Meet the Team: Ryan Doolin

At PetroLedger, we get to know our clients pretty well. We want you to know who we are, too. There’s a lot more personality than you might expect to find at a financial firm, and while professionalism is our first order of business, creating a fun work environment is always close behind! Today we’d like to introduce Ryan Doolin, one of PetroLedger's Regulatory Specialists. We sat down with him to ask him a few questions and get to know him a little better...

What’s your background, and how did you get into Oil and Gas Accounting?

I am from Edmond, Oklahoma. I got my bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University and my master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Analysis from Northeastern Oklahoma State University. I also recently became a credential Enrolled Agent. I started in Oil and Gas at WPX Energy right out of college in 2015. I did not leave there until Devon bought WPX , and I came to PetroLedger last March.

Let’s say you’ve been given the opportunity to sail the world. What are you naming your boat?

If I am given the opportunity to sail the world, the name of my boat would be “Debits and Credits,” which is an obvious ode to my profession and love for accounting. It is also an ode to one of my favorite games, which is a game centered around T- Accounts.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Surprisingly, I have known I wanted to be an accountant since I was 7. Before that, I wanted to be an NBA player and a defense attorney.

What is your specific role with PetroLedger Financial Services? (job title, but also day-to-day, what do you do?)

I am a Regulatory Specialist for PetroLedger, which basically means I take care of paying the governmental entities their portion of revenues, as well as reporting production information.

If you had to sing karaoke right now, which song would you pick, and why?

If I was to sing karaoke, I would sing "10,000 hours" by Justin Bieber, because it reminds me of my wife. (It's her ringtone when she calls me.)
