2024 was a year of growth and development for PetroLedger Accounting & Land. Throughout the year, we added valuable members to our team, brought in some incredible new clients, and expanded our reach in the energy industry. Our Sales & Marketing team was all over the map, preaching the good word of PetroLedger, and our PetroLeaders took advantage of new learning opportunities via user conferences and seminars to help our already highly experienced professionals better serve our clients, both old and new. Here are just a few highlights from an amazing year here at the PL.
PetroLedger had the opportunity to sponsor, exhibit and attend a number of incredible events this year. We revisited some of our old favorites, with booths at NAPE in Houston last February and the North American Petroleum Accounting Conference in Dallas in May, a sponsorship with Quorum’s Qnect on Demand in Houston in October, and we rounded out the year with a booth at Hart Energy’s Executive Oil Conference in Midland in November.
Our company also had the opportunity to attend several new events this year, either to exhibit or to attend and learn. Our team had the chance to exhibit at Quorum’s Qnections 24 in Las Vegas and the 2024 AAPL Annual Meeting in Boston, both of which introduced us to new faces and new opportunities to connect. Our PetroLeaders also attended the Railroad Commission of Texas’ Regulatory Conference in Austin, the Enertia User Conference in Las Vegas, the AAPL’s 2024 Women In Energy Institute in Houston and the DUG Appalachia Conference in Pittsburgh. All of these events allowed our team not only to network with some great leaders in the energy industry, but also to learn and grow their skillsets.
Members of our team also got to do some more regional networking, attending events hosted by the Houston Association of Professional Landmen and the Permian Basin Landmen’s Association.
One of our core values as a company is Community, and giving back is a very important part of our mission. This year, those efforts were led in no small part by our Tulsa and Houston offices.
Our Tulsa office participated in the Annual Walk/Run for St. Jude for its fifth year. Twenty-seven team members walked, raising more than $1,690 to support St. Jude's mission to find a cure during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Over the last five years PetroLedger has raised well over $10,000 in funds.
The Tulsa team also gave its time and resources to two other amazing organizations. They held a donation drive and potluck for SoonerStart, Oklahoma's Early Intervention program for families of infants and toddlers who have developmental delays, where they gathered diapers, wipes, and other essential baby items. They also donated essential items such as pacifiers, clothes, shoes, and toys to Tulsa’s Emergency Infant Services, as well as helping out in the warehouse with sorting and boxing items for distribution to families in need.
Both of our Houston teams got in on the action, finding fun and creative ways to give back to Space City.
Back in February, our South Houston office had the opportunity to volunteer with Buffalo Bayou Partnership to work on decluttering and clearing out Japhet Creek Park. Later in the year, they also laced up their sneakers to participate in the MD Anderson's Boot Walk to End Cancer. 100% of the proceeds from this walk go directly to support MD Anderson's mission to end cancer.
Our North Houston office found a chance to lace up their sneakers as well, competing in not one, but two charity pickleball tournaments. In September, our Vice President of Land Development, Mike Gibson, hit the courts at the Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen’s Charity Pickleball Tournament, alongside NAPE Director Drew Guntert. The following month, Houston PetroLeaders hit the courts again for the inaugural NAPE Charities Pickleball Tournament in Houston. The proceeds of both tournaments went to the NAPE Expo Charities Fund, which supports US veterans.
Don’t let the trips to Vegas and time on the pickleball courts fool you. At PetroLedger, we may play hard, but we work harder, and that’s evident in the success that our team has had this year. We’ve brought in some amazing new clients, and amazing new employees to help handle the workload. And our employees are just as dedicated as ever to our clients, old and new.
2024 brought a lot of change to our organization, but we’re stronger than ever, and determined to give our clients the highest quality of work from a company that feels like family. Your success is our success, and we look forward to continuing to be successful in 2025.
