Recently, we sat down with our Private Clients Team in Dallas to get the skinny on what they do, who they do it for, and why everyone should know about it. When asked to sum up the team in a few words, the answers were simple, but powerful — “full service,” “customer service,” and “premium service.”

About Our Private Clients Team

Our Private Clients Team is small, but mighty — a group of seven accounting professionals with decades of experience in the oil & gas industry and a wealth of knowledge between them. And even with all that they have to offer on a professional level, the greatest advantage that this department has is the personal relationships it builds with its clients.

The team works mostly with small operators, and those clients only have one or two points of contact within the team that they communicate with on a regular basis, which helps build and foster a personal connection, eliminate the risk of miscommunication, and keep a client’s information from being bounced around from hand to hand.

Our Private Client Services

In most cases, our Private Clients Team handles every single accounting function for the client, taking care of all of their back-office needs. They are readily available to deal with anything and everything that a client might require, and their daily tasks often include revenue entry and distribution, accounts payable, and payroll services like quarterly and end-of-year reporting, as well as 1099 and W2 reporting. They even help with regulatory work for some clients, like production and severance tax reporting.

The team also handles any direct communication with, or on behalf of, our private clients — including owner relations — ensuring that everything is taken care of, and nothing falls through the cracks. This often includes dealing with banking services, and the relationship that’s grown through all of these interactions allows the client to trust our team to handle their personal information with the utmost care, respect and professionalism.

Often, especially when they skew to the larger side, companies will only outsource part of their accounting workload while keeping other parts in-house, or they might deal with more than one company or department, depending on their needs. Because the Private Clients Team fulfills all of the needs for most of their clients, there's less room for human error (because we're all human, right?). All of the work that our company does for our private clients is handled by one or two accountants, ensuring that nothing is missed and the client's needs are being met.

The family-like rapport and care for both their teammates and their clients allows for a collaborative environment that can often save them time and the clients money. Thanks to the combined 40+ years of experience, there is always someone on the team with an answer to every question and a solution to every problem.

Everyone on the team truly enjoys what they do, loves the team they get to work with and is incredibly passionate about their clients. Over and over, every single employee talked about how important relationships are to what they do — both with the clients and with each other.
